Jacky Hattingh

I completed a undergraduate degree in Human Movement Sciences and an Honours Degree in Biokinetics in 1992, after which I worked in Europe for a year before returning to SA to open my own practice in 1994.The practice focused on spinal and cardiovascular rehabilitation where I worked in a multi-disciplinary practice. I later left the private practice environment to join a multinational pharmaceutical company where I worked for 9 years in various positions. In 2005 I left the corporate environment with my last position as a Managed Healthcare Manager. The experience in the business world was invaluable,  but my heart has always been in private practice, so I returned in 2005 and opened the practice in Craighall Park. I have completed post graduate courses in Functional Medicine through the Institute of Functional Medicine, USA as well as in Translational nutrigenomics and I am a PhD candidate in Natural Medicine.

I want to make caring for your health easy and practical, due to the way western medicine is practiced people separate themselves and their diagnosis from each other, leaving their health in the hands of people who do not always understand their unique situations and environment and do not treat the person as a whole but rather their symptoms according to a diagnosis.

Kristen Yammin

I completed my undergraduate BSc degree in Human Kinetics and Ergonomics at Rhodes University, after which I completed my post-graduate BHSc Honours in Biokinetics at the University of Witwatersrand. Subsequently, I have attained a certification in Sports Massage Therapy from the Health and Fitness Professionals Academy (HFPA).

I have always had a keen interest in the mechanisms of the body that allow optimal human movement and function, especially in sporting activities, particularly rowing sports. This led me to the human movement therapy career path.

Since 2015, I have been in private practice at Jacky Hattingh. Additionally, I tutor and lecture HFPA students on a part-time basis. I have a special interest in orthopedic injury rehabilitation, especially of the back, hip, knee and ankle joints; as well as an interest in cardiac disease rehabilitation. I utilize deep-tissue sports massage to complement exercise therapy to provide my clients with a comprehensive treatment protocol.

I am passionate about my role in assisting with the overall well-being and physical rehabilitation of my clients’ injuries. I work one-on-one with my clients, offering a personalized and attentive clinical service.
