You may have scoffed at your mother when she told you multiple times how important taking care of your skin is. Routine Cleansing

Dirty skin is one of the first things to present a problem, especially on your face. Without regular cleansing you are sure to see the aggravated presence of pimples, blackheads and other impurities. Acne and other skin conditions can be hereditary so finding out what afflictions you may be more prone to can be beneficial to know before taking on a new skincare regime. This may be as simple as knowing if you have dry, oily or combination skin depending on the season. Many people get this wrong and their skincare efforts backfire.

Finding a cleanser which is made to control oil without drying out your skin is the first step. You may bring an exfoliator into the mix two times a week to gently remove any dead skin cells that have accumulated on the surface.

Proper Hydration

Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. This is key to maintaining supple, glowing and healthy skin. This needs to happen internally through proper hydration too. Drinking more water throughout the day will benefit your overall well-being and the health and appearance of your skin.

If you are still young, a light day and night cream is a great starting point to keep your skin conditioned and moisturised through the day. It is important that your cleanser is not too harsh that the moisturiser doesn’t take effect. Striking this fine balance can be difficult. This is the number one rule of skin care. Sunscreen, not only when you go for a swim or to the beach. You should wear a layer of at least SPF 30 on your face every day. No ifs, how’s or buts about it.
